mr. A.H. Gaastra
André Gaastra (1965), attorney-at-law, leads the administrative law and government practice. Besides law, he graduated in marine engineering and completed the Grotius specialist course in General Administrative Law. Clients experience his knowledge of the business community and technology as an important advantage when handling complicated issues.
André advises on and litigates over environmental law, spatial planning and other administrative law matters. He is competent in administrative law, civil law and criminal law in these areas. He is specialised in environmental law and spatial planning in relation to mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions and enforcement law.
André has had more than 15 years experience in the trade and (chemical) industry and more than 10 as attorney-at-law. He is a member of the Environmental Law Attorneys-at-law Association (VMA), the Environmental Law association at Utrecht, the Administrative Law Association (VAR), the General Management Board of the Business Association Amsterdam Region (ORAM) and of the Lighthouse Club. André acts regularly as speaker on environmental law subjects in, amongst others, the Journal for Environment and Law (Milieu & Recht) and the Waste Journal (Journaal Afval). Furthermore, André is a member of the Supervisory Committee of the District Bar and lectures on Administrative Procedural Law for the professional training course of the Netherlands National Bar (NOvA).
