Subsidies

The granting of subsidies is a positive instrument, with whitch the government determines certain activities or can stimulate social developments. This can provide great opportunities for businesses and establishments. There is, however, a downside to this. Things can go wrong in the granting and determination of subsidies. The government, for example, can decide, in the framework of cutbacks, to no longer grant certain subsidies or to phase them out. That can be rather unfortunate if one is dependent on this subsidy. Another regular occurrence is that in carrying out a project, a problem can arise which can compromise the right to the subsidy.

Gaastra advocaten has broad experience in advising and litigating on subsidies. This concerns, amongst others, subsidies for infrastructural works, research and development work, subsidies in the framework of European incentive programmes or subsidies which are based on specific incentive policies of the national government. In many cases, Gaastra advocaten has been instrumental in the obtaining of or the retaining of vital subsidies.
